Dallas, January 7, 2010 -- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced today that it has completed the asset acquisition of Wiznet, Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida. Wiznet is a leading provider of electronic document filing solutions for courts and law offices throughout the United States.
Founded in 1995, Wiznet provides software products and services to court systems and the legal industry that simplify the filing and management of court case related documents, enabling attorneys to submit case filings electronically, instantly notifying all case parties, and allowing court fees and costs to be paid online.
Wiznet’s versatile e-filing solution is already integrated with Tyler’s Odyssey® courts and justice solution. Tyler’s experience with Wiznet products and first-hand knowledge of the scalability of the solution led to this mutually beneficial acquisition. Past joint sales experience and contract wins encouraged both groups to take their partnership to the next level as e-filing solutions are routinely requested by approximately 30 percent of prospects, up from less than 5 percent five years ago.
“We are pleased to welcome Wiznet’s employees and clients to the Tyler family,” stated Bruce Graham, president of Tyler’s Courts & Justice Division. “Wiznet has a solid track record and excellent reputation in the legal industry built on competitive products, excellent client relationships, and skilled professionals led by Mark McNeely. This acquisition is evidence of our commitment to provide best of breed products to our clients and also underscores Tyler’s reputation as the courts and justice market leader.”
Tyler offers a complete, fully integrated suite of judicial and criminal justice solutions with its Odyssey product suite. Odyssey provides the most reliable functionality available to courts and justice offices today — enabling clients to simplify processes, eliminate duplicate data entry, promote more effective business procedures and improve efficiency across the entire justice process. The addition of Wiznet will broaden Tyler’s product offerings and allow Tyler clients to better serve all of their constituents.
“We are excited to join Tyler Technologies,” explained Mark McNeely, CEO of Wiznet, Inc. “Tyler has a history of successful, strategic acquisitions, which have helped build the company into the largest exclusive provider of public sector software solutions in the country today. As the clear leader in the courts & justice market, Tyler is a great fit for our e-filing products and our clients. We are confident that our solutions will add extensive functionality and usability to Tyler’s courts & justice offerings, now and in the future.”

Pontiac, Michigan, Monday, January 26, 2009 - Oakland County's
successful eFiling program - which has already saved a stack of paper
five building stories tall - is expanding to include three new judges,
announced Clerk/Register Ruth Johnson and Chief Circuit Judge Wendy
Potts Friday.
Oakland Circuit Judges Rudy Nichols, Mark Goldsmith and Lisa Gorcyca
this month joined Judges Michael Warren, Wendy Potts and Colleen O'Brien
in the eFiling program, which requires attorneys in certain types of
cases to electronically file and serve documents.
"The success of our eFiling Program has really been incredible," said
Johnson. "Oakland County has used technology to save time, money and
trees while providing more convenient service to members of the legal
community."
"The Oakland County Circuit Court has been a leader in putting
technology to work," said Chief Judge Wendy Potts. "We are very happy to
welcome new judges on board and see this cutting-edge program grow and
expand."
To date:
* More than 39,141 filings have been made electronically,
representing an estimated 156,000 pieces of paper.
* More than 4,000 cases have been designed as e-filing cases. After
the initial filing, the cases are essentially "paperless" as they
move through the court system.
* Nearly 3,000 users from law firms around the county have gone
through training on using the system.
"On behalf of our 3,000 members, I can tell you this program is the wave
of the future," said Mike Schloff, president of the Oakland County Bar
Association. "You don't have to drive to the court house, park and
trudge through the snow. All it requires is a click of the mouse."
"Ultimately, when it is fully implemented and people get used to it,
eFiling will be a huge timesaver," Schloff added.
eFiling, a joint program of the Clerk's Office, the Oakland County
Circuit Court and the county's Information Technology Department, began
with a pilot program in 2007 in the courtroom of Circuit Judge Michael
Warren. The pilot was first expanded in January 2008 when three
additional members of the bench were brought on board.
While eFiling technology had been utilized in federal court and in the
U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Oakland County was the first to venture so deeply
into the e-filing arena by partnering with the Florida-based Wiznet,
Inc. which provides the Internet-based eFiling system.
Attorneys pay a small convenience fee, to cover costs, to file and serve
documents electronically.
The majority of civil case types are included in the program, including
negligence, medical malpractice, personal injury, labor relations and
contract dispute cases.
Prior to the launch of the eFiling Program at the Oakland County Circuit
Court, all documents were filed in a traditional manner. Attorneys or
their representatives would drive to the Court House and wait in line at
the Clerk's Office. At the counter, clerks would accept legal filings
and required fees. Documents would be scanned into the system and paper
copies were used as cases moved forward. On hearing days, boxes of legal
documents would be picked up from the Clerk's Office and delivered, by
hand, to individual members of the bench.
To interview Johnson, please call (248) 858-0168. Chief Judge Wendy
Potts may be contacted at (248) 858-0365.

Oakland County e-Filing Project Celebrates First Year
"Paperless" Court Cases Save Time, Money and Trees
Oakland County, Mich., Aug. 1, 2008 - Ruth Johnson, Oakland County Clerk and Register of
Deeds, said the first year of the county's innovative e-Filing Project has been more successful
than anticipated.
"Our e-Filing Project with the Oakland Circuit Court has surpassed our expectations - it's just
one of the ways we've put technology to work in meaningful ways for the residents and
businesses of Oakland County," Johnson said.
To date, approximately 108,000 pages of legal documents - picture a stack of paper three
building stories tall - have been electronically filed in 2,400 court cases. More than 1,600 law
firms, with some 1,400 trained users, are involved in the e-Filing Project.
Initially limited to the courtroom of Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren, the program was
expanded in January to three additional judges including Chief Judge Wendy Potts, Judge Fred
Mester and Judge Colleen O'Brien. It is mandatory in certain types of civil cases, ranging from
negligence and medical malpractice to personal injury and contract dispute cases. Attorneys in
those cases are required to file and serve documents electronically.
"This is an exciting day for us," said Judge Potts. "We have proven e-filing works at the Circuit
Court level and that, even with obstacles, government can put responsible technology to work to
advance the administration of justice."

"I am very pleased with the e-Filing and the paperless courtroom program," said Judge Warren.
"Not only have we saved a small forest, but we have significantly increased the efficiency of the
court and administration of justice. This program has placed the Oakland County Circuit Court
at the leading edge of innovative court practices in service to the public."
The cost of the program, a public-private partnership with the Florida-based Wiznet, was limited
to the investment of staff time by members of the Circuit Court, the Clerk's Office and the
county's IT Department. Law offices pay $5-8 for each transaction.
"The success of the project in Oakland County is a result of the tremendous dedication and
cooperation shown by the Clerk's Office, IT, and the Court in embracing change and
technology," said Robert Schott of Wiznet, who called it a win/win for the public, bench, bar and
court.
"Wiznet is proud to partner with Oakland County in creating a successful template for improving
access to justice and streamlining operations in Michigan courts," Schott said. "This initiative
clearly puts Oakland County in the forefront of national court technology."

Oakland County, Michigan - (Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2007) - An eFiling project requiring attorneys to file documents electronically was expanded today to include three more Circuit judges, announced Ruth Johnson, Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds. "It's an exciting day for our office and for the judges," said Johnson. "We're on the cutting edge with this technology and it's time to take it to the next level."
The program will affect about 800 current cases and some new cases assigned to Chief Judge L. Wendy Potts, Judge Fred M. Mester and Judge Colleen A. O'Brien. Only certain types of civil cases are included in the program - negligence, medical malpractice, personal injury cases, labor relations cases and contract disputes.
The eFiling project, a joint effort of the Clerk's Office, the Circuit Court and the county's Information Technology Department, began August 1, 2007 in the courtroom of Oakland Circuit Judge Michael Warren. The system, provided by the Florida-based Wiznet, allows documents to be both filed and served on opposing parties electronically toward the goal of creating "paperless" courtrooms.
To date, more than 1,500 documents have been filed electronically. More than 2,500 attorneys and their staff members, from 800 law firms, are registered to use the eFiling system. Training is offered online, at the county or off-site at legal firms.
"This proven technology is in keeping with our 'online, not in-line' philosophy," Johnson said. "Everybody wins - our lines are shorter for people who do have to come to the county, our work load can be distributed more efficiently and it saves many customers a trip to the courthouse."
The program has been called a model for the effective administration of justice for courts across the country. The system is dependable and secure, with several backup systems in place.
"I am very pleased to have my court participate in the environmentally friendly eFiling system," said Judge Colleen O'Brien. "EFiling will promote efficiency and cost-savings for all those who utilize the court system."
The cost of implementing the eFiling pilot program has been the investment of time by Circuit Court, Clerk's Office and IT staff. Law offices will pay $5-8 for each filing, which should pay for the efiling system within one to two years.
"Just the savings on paper alone means about 5,000 reams of paper or 300 trees a year," Johnson said.
